Week of March 19, 2018
Reading: In reading this week we will be finishing our reading partner books. The students will be completing their comprehension packet and starting their partner reports. We will also be continuing to study poems. The students will be reading different kinds of poems, we will be focusing on haiku poems this week.
Math: This week in math we will continue to study fractions. We will be focusing on adding fractions, comparing fractions, multiplying fractions, simplifying fractions and equivalent fractions. We will also be reviewing double digit multiplication.
Writing/English: In writing this week we will continue our writing project for RWM night. The students will be researching on their topic and starting the writing process. They will also be writing different types of poems this week.
Social Studies/Science: This week we will be studying the southeast region. The test will be on Friday. They will also be working on southeast region projects.
Spelling: Spelling packet will be due on Thursday this week. The spelling test will also be on Friday.
Keep working on multiplication and division at home. This is very important to help us with simplifying fractions. Also, make sure your students are reading at home. One way to help practice fluency is by having your child read out loud.
